Knock, knock
Most portfolio sites are static — a grid of projects, a PDF, a contact form. I wanted something different: a space where someone could actually talk to me, even when I'm not at my desk.
I've been following AI seriously since 2017, reading the papers, watching the field shift. Building this felt like a natural next step — not just using AI as a tool, but designing a human experience around it. The constraint I set myself: it should feel like a real conversation, not a chatbot.
So I gave it my voice, my stories, my opinions, and my way of thinking. It knows what I've worked on and why. It pushes back when it makes sense. It asks questions back. It doesn't pad answers or perform enthusiasm. That took a lot of tuning.
The technical side — the avatar state machine, the subtitle sync, the ElevenLabs voice clone, the entrance sequence — was built entirely with Claude Code. Which means AI helped me build an AI version of myself. I find that genuinely funny.
